Bendigo Hills
“The Stone Cottage”
Pinot Noir 2016
Aromas of red fruit, dark plums and coco. The ripe fruit notes are carried through to a punchy, vibrant palate. Attractive tart cherry on the palate balanced with ripe tannins provide a satisfying finish.
“Sweetly fruited and immediately appealing, the wine shows dark cherry, Black Doris plum, cedar, game and mushroom characters on the nose, leading to a concentrated and splendidly weighted palate that is fleshy and silky. It is generous and flavoursome, while remaining harmonious and structured, finishing persistent and delectable. At its best: now to 2024. May 2019. 95 pts, 5 stars” – Sam Kim
“Estate-grown at a high-altitude site at Bendigo, in the Cromwell Basin, the impressive 2016 vintage (5*) was matured for a year in French oak barriques (25 per cent new). Deep ruby, with a fragrant, spicy, savoury bouquet, it is mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, with concentrated, vibrant cherry, plum and spice flavours, revealing excellent complexity, and good tannin support. A lovely young red, approachable now, it should be at its best 2021+.” 5 stars – Michael Cooper
